The Call For Entries for the 2008 Darklight Festival is now closed – our expert viewing panels are currently locked in a cold, dark screening room, silently judging the hundreds of entries we received… 1,100 of them, in total. Many thanks to everyone who submitted a film for consideration to Darklight… You’re the lifeblood of our event. If you’re in, you’ll be hearing from us. If you’re not, please try again next year.

exit pursued by a bear are up for it
mark mentioned rulers of the planet and cian (?) from the bróg

inkyMembercombination of properly lit green/white screen and floating masks in post i’d say..kinda tricky
after effects might be a better way.
or you could go the old school route and build a theatre-style ‘flat’ and cut a square into the middle through which the talent is visible, you could put in a picture frame in in post of do it for real by cheating the perspective..or you could shoot the talent – layer 1
shoot the wall & picture frame, greenscreen the picture surface – layer 2
do a composite of both layers and fiddle about with arms and bowl overlapping the picture frame using chroma or luma keyshmm interesting..we know of a location where theres a piano and a harp and old fashioned statues and busts etc.
inkyMemberthe plates kinda full at the minute but let me know what dates you’re thinking of once you cast and get all the production done and ill try and get along.
inkyMemberhi aaron, hey john
im a camera op. and editor. once ye get some ideas on paper, scripted, budgeted etc. i’d love to have a look at them, especially if yourself, Seb and Robbie are involved John.
if its something i get a feeling for i can assemble the crew and edit and deliver the finished article.I wouldn’t mind having 2 or 3 high quality shorts (max 5 mins) to submit to Futureshorts and Festivals.
Like yourselves, its a busy time of year for me so keep me posted and if i can help with anything let me know.
Cheers

inkyMemberjust gonna post a 20 minute documentary off to darklight now that myself and dan made recently about an ex-pat and his adventures in Cork as a kid and his life in London during the 60s and 70s rubbing shoulders with gangsters and film stars. fingers crossed etc.
inkyMemberno prob bob.. ill have to have a proper sit down and look at the vid, next week.
inkyMembertry eddie noonan or emma of frameworks films.. not sure if he does it himself..i think he might have a beta deck instead of digibeta…worth a try though, 021 4322454, you’d probably have to provide the tape yourself
inkyMemberthis looks tailor-made for ya duff!
inkyMembernice little scenario there, seems like part of a larger story though. if its well cast it could be great. keep em comin’.
inkyMembercheers hanman. ill read em there on my lunch break and get back to ya.
inkyMembersomething short 2-3 minutes… something do-able too without too much production
