hey iain, i left my phone in a mates gaf, missed all the calls yesterday, sorry bout that – i should be around some night next week alright, is there any way to contact you apart from your phone (mark’s number even) – ill drop up the DVDs to ya today anyway

ill pick up the tapes from dan today hopefully and it might give me an idea of how the 5 minute cut should go – maybe it should focus on the fact that most of the bands are unsigned

cool. couldnt really hear ya too well in the pub last night, wasn’t sure if you had the tapes on ya in the car. ill call up about 7 tonight for them if thats ok. the 5 minute cut depends on mark and iain really and what they want to say, we might tape it on mini-disc. workin on titles today, when the name of the band member comes on-screen, a little man appears next to their name and does a ‘pete townsend’ guitar strum

could yourslef and mark write down the points ye want to make in the documentary and come up with a voice over script for a 5 minute cut and ill make something up with what we have so far. ye might start gathering music ye want onto CDs and get the necessary permissions (in writing)

shooting today postponed liam & bob, something cropped up for the actor so we’ll have to reschedule..i had an idea for an ad involving an ice cream van but dont have the budget to pay the guy.

i think i have an idea for another one which should be easier to shoot… all i need is a postman’s uniform…anyone?? even a blue hat, the rest can be faked.

Liam, hopefully we’ll shoot it this wednesday in town. i have to confirm with the lads involved first but ill ring you when its all sorted. sadly, the guy with the ice cream van was looking for cash for the lend of his van so i had to knock that one on the head. maybe inspiration with strike in the meantime before the deadline. cheers

i used some of those film centre lights yesterday…they’re battered but still do the trick – used grease proof paper from tesco to difuse and some ‘borrowed’ blue & orange gels (not included in the kit) and it all looked great … maybe we could rent the kit for shooting ‘Saturday’ for the interior scenes? anyone know anyone in the opera house or everyman who could throw us a sheet of gel?

ill be around next week Mark. Ill be working solid the week after in East Cork. pretty flexible then again until first week of April. Weekends seem to suit everyone. You should check in with Dan to talk about the edit etc. first though. He might have some suggestions.

    Treatment & Shot List

Extreme Close Up: Tattoo artist’s hand draws ink onto an unidentifiable body part.
Close Up: Tattoo artist’s face concentrating, looking downwards.
Close Up: Biker’s face, wincing. Hum of the needle in the background. Biker farts violently – CUT TO
Mid/Wide Shot: Reveal- Biker lying face down propping himself up on his elbows, ass revealed, tattoo artist drawing on his ass.
Thought bubble appears " I need to leave this job"
Close Up: Artist’s eyes close in disgust at the smell.
I have some hilarious fart sound effects but i cant upload wav files.
    Very simple.

Sean W – do any of your biker buds have an existing ass tattoo or one on a body part that could double as an ass in an extreme close up? I could probably find a sound effect for the needle so we dont have to mark anyone for life.

how about combining it with drop-d footage ie. "This a report on the music scene in Cork blah blah…"

I’ve also emailed a Cork based multi-cultural dance group called No Frontiers about a collaboration – they might be interesting subjects
