It has gotten terrible reviews. So happily I went to it expecting it to be kak and I enjoyed it. There are plenty flaws, and honest-to-goodness Spidee fans won’t like it. The script is far from tight, but it is entertaining. Just don’t be expecting a masterpiece!
(And in fairness there are some ridiculous scenes in it – like the one with the butler… I won’t be spoiling it though by giving anything away!)

Anyone up for hiring the basic cans from the CFC (they cost about €30) for a day and tooling about with lighting just for the sake of seeing what works, what doesn’t work, what looks good, what gels look best etc? Or better still, are there any lighting experts out there who’d like to give a few of us the benefit of their experience?

I didn’t want to influence the debate by stating my own opinion first, and certainly it’s interesting to read the points everyone is making. I’d love to get a go filming on HDcam. Yet I agree with what ye are saying about it being further down the list of priorities in the event of securing funding.

I was also looking at the equipment filmbase have, and they certainly have some nice stuff for hire. I would like to see what the Cork Film Centre have bought with the extra funding they achieved lately.

I hear you man. Didn’t want to say it. Thought 3 were okay, but 2 are shocking. ‘Conspiracy’ comes to mind, but then it comes to mind with me with most things! Now where is that sock that went missing in the wash…

That’s interesting stuff. Fair play. Were you happy with the way your Jameson film turned out? We should have an egomotion show of all the films at some stage!

Wouldn’t be a bad idea to do a short one ourselves – we could use v for vendetta for example. as the guy wears a mask which hides his mouth – always handy for dubbing. If we did a funny enough one it could be good promo for egomotion.
