With rgards to the meeting. If i can get somewere on a train line i will arange it or perhaps if someone else is comming up from Cork, you might be able to get a lift.
Once i have all the names in and a date is being set i will see who is coming from where and if some car pooling can be arranged.

I’m starting to get a bit excited now. A lot of interest has been shown, particulary by writers.
The first meeting will be in a couple of weeks. I hope to announce some possibe dates early next week.
I agree with you about writing and acting in these sort of things. When i write a comedy sketch i hear the voices that are being spoken and sometimes that is where the comedy lies. It can be hard to convey with just text.Send me your e-mail addrees would you. The people that are interested are coming from a wide range of sites and i want to be able contact everyone all at once without having to jump from site to site. I’m beginning to feel like Youl Brenner in the magnificent seven as one by one people come forward.
So far I have two writers and a director, my self included, who are interested.
The plan for the moment is to collect as many names and details as I can because there is bound to a certain amount of drop off as we get close to actually putting something together.Then I will arrange a get together where we can all talk about what it is we are looking to do and where we can go from there.
One of the lads is in the middle of a production and won’t be ready for another couple of weeks anyway.
As for location? The three so far are all in Dublin but don’t worry about that, we can arrange a meeting somewhere central. Ireland isn’t exactly the biggest country, so a bit of driving for something we are truly interested in doing shouldn’t be a problem. And if it is well then the interest wasn’t really there to begin with.
John, is you friend interested as well? If so get him to drop me a line too would you.
I see from your posting that you’re an actor and that you’ve written some comedy sketches? Great. Post some of the sketches here for me to have a look at would you or e-mail them to me.
If you have done anything on you-tube that I could get a look at that would be great. If you haven’t don’t worry about it.

HI. I just came across this thread and think you’ve really got the bones of something good started here.
One thing however. The whole Cork only angle thing is a bit narrow. I for one come from Dublin and wold love to be involved (Bearing in mind that i can write and that’s it. Although i wouldn’t mind trying a bit of acting. But enough about me)but some people might get the impression (rightly or wrongly) that if your not from Cork your not welcome.
I understand that most of you guys that run this site are from Cork and that’s fine. But somehitng like this could very quickly spread into somethiing bigger reguardless of wheather or not you want it to[*].I would recomend that you relax about trying to keep it small. Make you movies in Cork while most of the partisipants are there but don’t cut yourselves off from the rest of us, either phyisicaly or mentally.

Glad you liked the sketch i sent you. Just about everything i write has strong (or at least highly visable) characters.
I like the different aspects of peoples personalities and how they interact. You are right when you say the piece i sent looks as if it might be the start of something bigger. It’s taken from an idea i’ve had running around in my head for a long time but never commited to paper. The origoinal idea has a lot more characters and i scaled it back. One of the reasons i’ve never got down to writing it is because i can’t decide whether to do it as a novel or a screen play.By the way i’m writing somethihg for Dan to look at, at the moment and i was wondering is there somewhere on the site i can post it so anyone interested can look at it. I’m still finding my way around the site but need to get to work.

Just found this site by chance but it looks really cool (If cool is still an accepted exclamation. Oh god have I alienated myself already) Anyway the site seems like a great idea. I’m a writer. I’ve written a few poems, a handful of short stories and a couple of novels. I have some great ideas for short movies as well as a mini series (comedy). Dan, you may regret asking for ideas to be sent to you but I hope you get a laugh out of them none the less.Anybody out their looking for a script writer feel free to give me a shout. I’m not trying to sound boastful but I can write just about anything. Why not call my bluff and try me, if you’re hard enough, (loud evil laugh).
