The third and final? of the trilogy ends with a bang! With incredible action sequences, Well written characters. Great standout performances from Keira Knightley, Geoffrey Rush and of course Johnny Depp. A fantasic ending to a great trilogy. <img loading=” title=”Very Happy” />

B.T.W. The soundtrack is fantastic, Classic (Hans)Zimmer

Just saw pirates 3, wouldn’t completely agree with you Adrian bud, While i am a fan of Pirates 1 & even 2, i found that 3 was a bit messy, i think, is the best word to describe it.

Lets start with the good points:

it look amazing, some of the best cg animation i’ve seen, but then it did cost millions to make so it has no reason not to look great,

Keith Richards makes an amazing appearance and is a very convincing pirate!.

    The monkey was cool

Some good humour but a lot of it is a bit taky, not to mention the marriage scene, will say no more about that one, talk about cheese!

    So now the bad:
The storyline or plot of this film almost doesnt exist, it is soooo confusing, its like the film likes every character so much it tries to put them all in the spotlight which takes from the overall story which has been given feck all screen time and instead stuffed into a few lines of exposition. I mean your just getting to grips with one character and they go off on a tanget somewhere else, some of the characters are absolutly unessecery for the film at all! At the start of the film they introduce chinese pirates which serve only as a new look in the pirate underworld and little or no purpose to the main storyline, they waste a good 15 mins dealing with this unesscessary garbage. It tries to be the return of the Jedi opening but fails at it.

The "lets rescue Jack form the grave" plotline is absolutly ridiculous, i mean all they might as well have is done is flip a coin and he would re-appear, apparantly it is a very easy thing to do! and why is only jack the one that can come back from the dead, different rules for different fools i suppose.

The film is very dark, its supposed to be a kids film! The only bright scenes at all are Jacks Dead scenes! Now i don’t mind a dark installment, just look at empire stricks back etc.. But this is supposed to be the fair ending, the end of a magical fairytale, but it feels like a grimm underworld flick.

Okay so Jack Sparrow saves the film a bit, its worth going to see just for that, he is great character, but! I feel as though he was just stuck in there, like the writers just wrote loads of jack sparrow stuff without giving him a huge purpose to anything really, don’t think they really need him to come back from the dead, could have done it without him.

One more thing and then i will leave this film alone

    Kiera Nightly cannot act!

But then i’ll still probably buy it on DVD, just coz it still pirates! kinda like I bought phantom menace coz its still star wars!

Not to sure i agree with some of the points you made.I like the fact that it’s dark just because it’s Disney you’d expect a bright happy
ending. At the end of the day it’s supposed to be a fun and entertaining adventure and I.M.O that is what it is. And it was a helluva lot better than Spiderman 3. I wouldn’t go as far to say that Keira Knightley can’t act.

    But thats just my opinion.

    The monkey was cool. <img loading=” title=”Very Happy” />
