Physical Theatre: Explore theatre & yourself through the use of your body.

    Sunday 18th of October, 2009 – 10am to 5pm
Kinsale Pottery & Arts Centre, Co. Cork
    Led by: Marcus Bale
    Fee: €60 Inc Light lunch

The use of our body in theatre is a great tool sometimes neglected.
Most studies indicate that approximately 60% of meaning is
communicated through the body. Theatre is, in a basic level,
communication, but in theatre we try sometimes to communicate much
more than everyday life. During this one-day workshop, we will learn
together different methods of expression using our body. The
techniques used range from Improvisation, Clowning, Commedia
dell’Arte, Mime and others. We will cover:

    – Body awareness
    – Physical Characterization
    – Rhythm & Tempo
    – Articulation of movement and movement vocabulary
    – Visualizations
    – The body through the senses
    – The body inside our mind and the body outside of our mind
