MemberI think for the purpose of short filmmakers and people who are using non tape based media, FCPX is most definitely awesome, The whole debate is really between the pro post editing houses, TV based media etc, but for filmmakers and especially the DSLR brigade, Final cut definitely is worth looking in to. To be honest in about 5 years from now even those pro editing houses will have gotten rid of tape ingested media. The FCPX is now more sturdy and is no longer a vanilla release so i think it will appeal to Bigger market, the only downside to me is that my main machine’s graphics card can’t handle FCPX, so its raised the question of upgrades, maybe its time for a new machine? I’ll give it a year and see what happens methinks.
It runs beautifully on my mac book for now.
