Participant Profile
This course is aimed at camera operators who would like to further expand their experience and knowledge of lighting, using hi def and digibeta cameras, lighting in Studio and on Location.
Course Profile
This course is an opportunity for participants to light various setups outside the constrainits of a production, under the guidance of the tutor, using a High Definition (Sony HDW 750) and Digibeta Camera. Participants will light numerous setups in studio and on location.
The areas which will be covered in the workshop are as follows:
• Introduction to how HD cameras work.
• The picture dynamics of HD
• Tonal range of HD cameras
• “Top of Day” check list, Troubleshooting
• Lighting for digital – various interior setups in Studio & on Location
• Lighting and exposure
Tutor Profiles
Paul Wheeler is a renowned cinematographer/director of photography, trainer and author of several books on Cinematography; he has been nominated twice by BAFTA for a Best Cinematography award and has also twice been the winner of the INDIE award for Best Digital Cinematography. He has worked as Senior Drama Film Cameraman with the BBC and currently pursues a freelance career.
