Apply now for a Free Film Scoring Seminar for Producers, Directors and Composers which takes Place on Sunday 6th of December
The aim of this free seminar is to explore the role of music in film, the relationship between the composer and director/producer, and practical and creative issues surrounding music in film. The seminar will take place in Dublin, venue TBC.
Emmy-winning composer Bill Ross
will lead a day-long event which will explore these issues through lectures and panel discussions (full list of panellists to be announced). In addition, participants will have the opportunity to view the short films scored as part of the Filmbase / IMRO / Contemporary Music Centre / FÁS Screen Training Ireland / RTÉ film scoring event.
The seminar will cover the following:
> What makes a good score?
> Overview of the scoring process
> Technology and scoring – digital editing, workflow and computer tools
> Budgeting for film scoring – cost v. quality
> Publishing rights/royalties
> The creative relationship – composers and directors
> Music supervision

This seminar is aimed at film composers, directors, producers and film/TV professionals seeking to enhance their understanding of the role and business of music in film.
