September 26, 2008 at 2:38 am #4942DanMemberSince February 2007 we have been making a documentary on the Cork (Rock) music scene.
What started out as an effort to film a live gig professionally ( Exit The Street, Fight Like Apes [First Cork performance] and Anacrusis) and a treatment comprising of interviews with a handful of bands, promoters and venue management soon escalated into something much bigger.
A documentary featuring interviews with over 20 bands who have been making their name in Cork and further afield was an end result of a much simpler idea. This film takes the temperature of the Cork Rock scene by talking to the people who actually make it happen.
This October 16th sees the premier of ‘ Rock With Your Cork Out! ‘ in the newly re-opened Pavilion on Careys Lane as part of the Corona Cork Film Festival. The Pavilion itself is a fitting venue for the premier as many people have passed through it’s doors, firstly as a cinema and also to see many musical and rock acts.
We are thrilled with our finished product and what we have achieved thus far. Call in on October 16th to see not just the film itself but also a sample of local acts performing live on the night.
