"The Dawn" Film Workshops (Co. Kerry) are looking for expressions of interest from
participants for a 2 week Camera and Lighting Master class with [b:26wh4go2]Steven Fierberg ASC[/b:26wh4go2].
The course, which will be run in Tralee, will be scheduled as follows:
Week 1 – Cinematic Storytelling.
Camera position, placement and movement
Lens selection
Scene coverage & Blocking
Shot design & composition
Camera operating styles
Script break down
Storyboards & shot lists
Week 2 – Feature film Lighting.
Draw-up lighting plots for various situations
Shoot a variety of scenes and exercises to expand your technical knowledge
and visual aesthetic.
Light scenes, use a combination of natural light, HMI, tungsten and fluorescent
lights in a series of exercises; scenes include bedrooms, car interiors,
day and night, street scenes and dramatic situations with actors.
Cost: Week 1 – € 260 Week 2 – € 260 – Enrol both weeks for € 450.00

Steven Fierberg, ASC cinematography credits include commercials, music videos and a diverse range of more than 40 narrative films for the cinema and television, including Attila (which won an ASC Outstanding Achievement Award for Cinematography), Kingpin, Secretary, the first 25 episodes of the HBO series Entourage and the network’s pilot How To Make It In America.
The workshops are a funded collaboration between FAS Tralee & Creative Media Department, IT Tralee and named in honour of the 1930’s movie shot in Killarney.
