Filmbase & Entertainment.ie re-enactment

It’s here… Your time to shine. Entertainment.ie and Filmbase are offering you the chance to win some great prizes for doing something you love. All you have to do is send in a re-enactment of your favourite movie scene. It can be from any film and acted out in any way you please. From finger puppets to Cecil B DeMille – however you see it. 

Far be it for us to suggest anything but – whether you bring us something funny or serious – above all let it be imaginative. The top prize is a digital filmmaking production equipment package worth up to €1,000 from Filmbase. Other prizes include Filmbase courses, membership and Film Ireland subscriptions.

The Cork Youth International Film & Video Festival, was established in 1980 to open doors of the world of film making to the young, especially those involved in youth clubs, schools, community groups. The whole emphasis of the festival is to create awareness and involve them in all forms of art and to provide a showcase for their work.

Since the year 2000, we have a complete section in the irish language, to encourage the widest possible use of irish in the most modern media

Serious Music Heads attend Cork Festival

Prominent music experts will visit Cork on Tuesday next, 24th March as part of Cork Arts Fest 2009.  2FM DJ, Dan Hegarty; Paul Linehan, Bass player and vocalist with Frank and Walters; Ian Wilson, 2FM producer responsible for launching the careers of countless musicians with his pioneering session recordings; and Maurice Byrne, Senior Sales Executive with Sony BMG will share their experiences in the promotion of quality music.

The evening organised by the Music Society of Cork Institute of Technology is scheduled to start at 6pm with a screening of “Rock with Your Cork Out” a documentary (27 min) which focuses on the experiences of young Cork rock musicians.  This will be followed by a screening of extracts from a documentary on the career of Ireland’s first international rock legend, the late Rory Gallagher.  This documentary is currently in production and is brought to Cork by Rory’s brother Donal Gallagher who will also chair the panel discussion following the screening.

The screening and panel discussion will take place from 6pm on Tuesday 24th March in the Rory Gallagher Theatre, Cork Institute of Technology.  Throughout the evening, audience members will be encouraged to ask questions and seek advise from the music experts on the panel.

DJ, Dan Hegarty’s award winning programme will be broadcast live from Cork later that evening and will feature some of the panel guests.
