Hi guys,
I have two reasons for this post. Firstly I want to let ye all know that my most recent theatrical production, [i:26mx7hjw]Life in The Venue[/i:26mx7hjw][/url:26mx7hjw], is running in The Everyman this week, and secondly to see if anyone fancies coming along to film it either tonight or tomorrow?
[i:26mx7hjw]Life in The Venue[/i:26mx7hjw] is a play about ushers working in ‘The Venue’. It’s played out down in the auditorium, in and around the audience. It’s the first in a new series called Cork Shorts that the Everyman are running where local companies are given a slot before the main play to give a taster of a project they are working on. It’s a great idea and has given us a chance to bring our work to a new audience. I know this site is for film but I always feel that the film and theatre industries need to get closer. The acting and writing personnel you need for your films can be found in theatre and short plays like this can introduce you to new talent.
Because it’s such an unusual piece I’m anxious to try and capture it on film. I have a 7D myself but I’m operating the lights etc for the performances so it’s a bit hard for me to film it myself. Ideally I’d like more than one camera person because there’s a lot going on but we don’t have any budget and we only have 2 performances left. The performance only lasts 30 minutes or so, and starts at 7:30PM so you’d be free and all by 8:15PM the latest. The performance starts from about 7:20PM so we’d need you to come in and set up at about 7PM.
While we can’t offer any payment for the filming I’m a big believer in the barter system for the arts so maybe I could help out with a project you are doing?
If you can help please let me know.
Thanks,
Eoin.
