[b:9b67f]The Fresh Film Festival[/b:9b67f] is a national film festival for young people, aged between 7 and 18, that takes place in Limerick each year. The Fresh Film Festival grew out of a need for a specific film festival for young people that would firstly assess their needs and then develop a program that would suit their requirements. The festival is committed to the creation of a strong film culture in Ireland which it feels can be achieved by having film-making and film education freely accessible to young people.
The Fresh Film Festival is a unique event in the Irish cinematic calendar. Now in it’s tenth year, the festival’s core objective is the facilitation of young people and this is reflected in the workshops, the feature screenings and culminates in the distinctive Ireland’s Young Film-maker of the Year Competition which holds creativity as its maxim. The festival takes place each spring. Fresh Films is a non-profit making organization that aims to create a greater awareness and understanding of film culture among young people in Ireland.
